The Waterway 310-1720 is the complete 2 inch Executive wet end for 2 HP pumps built on the 56 frame motor. It is the pump end supplied as an assembly.
When to buy a wet end
A pool pump fails in one of two halves. When the motor has gone, you replace the motor. When the motor is fine but the pump body is cracked, the volute threads are stripped or the internals are past saving one part at a time, the wet end is the half to change. Buying it as an assembly is usually cheaper and always faster than sourcing the housing, diffuser, impeller and seal plate separately.
