Product details

The Waterway 310-1720 is the complete 2 inch Executive wet end for 2 HP pumps built on the 56 frame motor. It is the pump end supplied as an assembly.

When to buy a wet end

A pool pump fails in one of two halves. When the motor has gone, you replace the motor. When the motor is fine but the pump body is cracked, the volute threads are stripped or the internals are past saving one part at a time, the wet end is the half to change. Buying it as an assembly is usually cheaper and always faster than sourcing the housing, diffuser, impeller and seal plate separately.

Confirm the frame

Waterway builds the Executive on both 48 frame and 56 frame motors, and the wet ends are not interchangeable. This one is listed in the Executive 56 frame parts breakdown at 2 HP with 2 inch porting. Read the motor label before ordering, and check that the port size matches the plumbing you already have.

What is included in a wet end?
It is the pump end supplied as an assembly, as opposed to buying the housing, impeller, diffuser and seal plate individually.
Will it fit my 48 frame Executive?
No. This is the 56 frame version. Waterway lists it under the Executive 56 frame pump parts, and the 48 frame build uses different parts.
Does it include the motor?
No. A wet end is the pump end only. The motor stays and the wet end bolts to it.
When is a wet end the right repair?
When the motor still runs strong but the pump body is cracked, the threads are gone or the internals are worn past rebuilding piece by piece.
