Product details

The Zodiac R0443900 is the valve top assembly for the Jandy Pro Series 2 inch side mount multiport valve. It replaces the working top of the valve as a single unit.

Why the top and not the valve

Everything that moves in a multiport lives in the top: the rotor, its seals and the handle mechanism. The body is a plumbed casting that normally lasts as long as the filter. Replacing the top assembly restores clean separation between the ports without cutting the valve out of the pipework.

What worn internals look like

Water bleeding to waste while the valve is set to filter, a backwash that never runs strongly, or a handle that no longer locks positively into a position are all signs the top is finished. Check the size first: this is the 2 inch assembly, and the 1-1/2 inch valve takes a different part.

What is included?

The valve top assembly for the Jandy Pro Series 2 inch side mount multiport, Zodiac part R0443900.

Do I have to change the whole valve?

No. That is the point of the top assembly. The body stays plumbed in and only the top is replaced.

Will it fit the 1-1/2 inch valve?

No. This is the 2 inch assembly. The smaller valve uses a different part.

Why would the top need replacing?

The moving parts and the sealing surfaces all live in the top. When they wear, water bleeds between ports, so the filter never fully isolates and backwash runs weakly.
