The Pentair 155225 is the 6 inch V thread adapter for a filter valve, a molded plastic part listed under Tagelus top mount sand filter parts.

Where it sits

On a top mount filter the multiport valve does not thread straight into the tank. The adapter is the piece in between, carrying the thread form on one side and the valve connection on the other. Everything above it is under system pressure, so the adapter is doing real work even though it looks like a spacer.

Getting the right one

Thread form matters as much as size here. The V thread is not a pipe thread and forcing a mismatched adapter into the tank neck damages both parts.
