The Hayward DEX2420ATC is the lower filter body for SwimClear cartridge filters and Pro-Grid vertical grid DE filters. It is supplied with the tank o-ring gasket and the clamp, so the whole bottom of the filter goes back together as one job.
New style only
This is the new style clamp and bottom assembly, and it is only compatible with filters built after 2008. Hayward changed the clamp arrangement, so an older tank will not accept this bottom. Confirm the age of your filter before ordering.
When you need it
A lower tank half that has split, crazed or been damaged at the clamp seat cannot be patched back into service under pressure. Replacing the bottom saves the top half, the grids or cartridges and the manifold, which is the bulk of what a filter is worth.
