Hayward DEX2420BTC is the upper filter body, or filter head, for the DE2420 Pro-Grid DE filter and the SwimClear C2020 and C2025 cartridge filters. It arrives with the clamp system and the metal reinforced o-ring.
Why it gets replaced
The upper body is half of a pressure vessel. Years of sun, chemistry and pressure cycling leave it crazed around the clamp band or split at a molded joint, and once that starts there is no repair. A filter that weeps or sprays at the seam, or one where the clamp no longer pulls the halves together evenly, needs a new upper body.
What you get
Because the clamp system and the tank o-ring come with the assembly, the top half of the filter goes back together with all new sealing hardware. Check your model number against the fitment list before ordering: the same body covers a DE filter and two SwimClear cartridge filters, but not the whole SwimClear range.
