Product details

The Pentair 355317 is the mounting plate gasket for high pressure pool pumps in the 3/4 HP to 3 HP full rated range, which is the same as 1 HP to 2.5 HP up rated. It is the genuine Pentair part.

Where it sits

The mounting plate is the wall between the motor and the wet end. This gasket seals that joint. When it hardens, cracks or takes a permanent set, the pump weeps at the seam and can lose prime, and no amount of tightening brings the seal back.

Before you order

Check that your pump is a high pressure model and confirm the horsepower on the motor label against the ranges above. Read both the full rated and up rated figures, since the same motor is often described either way.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which pumps does this gasket fit?
It is specified for high pressure models rated 3/4 HP to 3 HP full rated, and 1 HP to 2.5 HP up rated.
What is the difference between full rated and up rated?
They are two ways of stating the same motor. Read the horsepower and the rating from your motor label, then match it against the two ranges listed here.
Is this a genuine Pentair part?
Yes. Pentair part number 355317.
Should I replace the gasket during a seal change?
Yes. Once the mounting plate is off, a fresh gasket costs little and avoids a second teardown if the old one has taken a set.
