Speed and flow

A plain variable speed pump holds a motor speed. A VSF pump can also hold a flow rate: you tell it the gallons per minute you want, and it adjusts its own speed as filters load up and conditions change to keep that flow.

Control

Speeds and schedules are set on the pump through the onboard touchscreen, so a basic installation does not need a separate controller on the wall.
