Quick overview

  • Genuine Sta-Rite Factory part 37447-0001L.
  • CSPH and CCSPH Listed against the Sta-Rite CSPH and CCSPH commercial pump families.
  • A wear part, not a structural one The sleeve is there to take the wear so the shaft underneath does not.
  • Works with the mechanical seal The seal runs against this surface, so a scored sleeve chews through new seals.
  • Commercial duty These pumps run far longer hours than residential units, and the sleeve wears accordingly.
  • Change it with the seal If you are in far enough to reach the sleeve, replacing the mechanical seal at the same time saves a second teardown.

Product details

The Sta-Rite 37447-0001L is the shaft sleeve for the CSPH and CCSPH commercial pool pumps. It is the genuine Sta-Rite part.

What the sleeve is for

The mechanical seal has to run against something, and whatever it runs against wears. Rather than let that happen to the motor shaft, these pumps carry a sleeve over the shaft as a sacrificial surface. When it grooves or scores, the sleeve comes off and a new one goes on, and the shaft is untouched.

Doing the job once

Reaching the sleeve means taking the pump apart, which is also what it takes to reach the mechanical seal, the impeller gasket and the retaining ring. Commercial pumps run long hours, so if the sleeve is worn the seal usually is too. Replacing both together is a great deal less work than doing them a month apart.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which pumps does this fit?
Sta-Rite lists 37447-0001L under CSPH and CCSPH commercial pump parts.
What does a shaft sleeve do?
It is a replaceable surface that sits over the shaft where the mechanical seal rides. The sleeve absorbs the wear, and when it is worn you change the sleeve instead of the shaft.
Should I replace the mechanical seal too?
It is the sensible move. A new seal running on a grooved sleeve wears out quickly, and reaching either part means opening the pump.
Is this the genuine part?
Yes. It is Sta-Rite 37447-0001L.
