Product details

C105-137PEBA is the impeller assembly for the Sta-Rite Max-E-Glas and Dura-Glas series pumps, covering the 1 HP full rate and the 1.5 HP up-rated builds.

What the impeller does

The impeller is the part that actually moves the water. The motor supplies the turning, but the flow a pump produces is set by the impeller inside it, which is why the same motor can be sold at different ratings with different impellers behind it.

Ordering the right one

Match the part number rather than the horsepower on the label. Pumps in this family look alike from the outside and take different impellers depending on how they were rated, and an impeller that is close but not correct will not seat properly against the diffuser. Falling flow with a clean filter and an empty basket is the usual reason for going in after one, and once the wet end is open the vanes will show wear or cracking if that is the problem.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which pumps does this impeller fit?
Sta-Rite Max-E-Glas and Dura-Glas series pumps, in the 1 HP full rate and 1.5 HP up-rated builds.
What is the difference between full rate and up-rated?
They are two ways of labeling the same pump. This impeller covers the 1 HP full rate and the 1.5 HP up-rated version, which is why one part number serves both.
Can I fit a bigger impeller for more flow?
Order the impeller the pump was built with. The impeller, the motor and the diffuser are matched, and changing one on its own is how pumps get damaged.
How do I know my impeller is worn?
Falling flow with a clean filter and a clear basket, or visible wear and cracking on the vanes once it is out.
