The Hayward HPX11023693 is the transformer for HeatPro heat pumps, listed for models HP6003T, HP11003T, HP21003 and HP2100TC03T. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What it does

The transformer takes incoming power and steps it down to the low voltage the control side of the heat pump runs on: the board, the display and the relays that call for the compressor and fan. Nothing on the control side works without it.

Diagnosing a dead unit

When a HeatPro has power at the disconnect but the display stays dark and the unit will not respond to anything, the transformer is one of the first things to test. It is an easy part to overlook because the symptom looks like a dead control board, and a transformer costs a small fraction of what a board does. Rule this out before you order anything more expensive.
