Product details

The Pentair Triton II TR 140 is a side mount fiberglass sand filter with a 36 inch tank, 7.06 square feet of filter area and a 106 gpm rating. This is the almond version, part number 140243.

Why side mount

A side mount filter carries its valve on the side of the tank rather than on top. That drops the overall height of the assembly, so the filter fits under low overhangs and in equipment enclosures where a top mount will not clear. The plumbing runs off to the side instead of straight up.

Before you order

The filter ships without a valve. A backwash valve is required to operate it, so pair this tank with a valve at the time of purchase. It also needs a charge of filter sand, which is bought separately by the bag.

Does this filter come with a valve?
No. The Triton II TR 140 is supplied without a valve, and a backwash valve is required to run it. Order the valve at the same time.
What is the difference between side mount and top mount?
On a side mount the valve bolts to the side of the tank instead of sitting on the lid. It keeps the height down, which matters when the filter sits under a low overhang or close to other equipment.
How much water can it handle?
The TR 140 is rated at 106 gpm with 7.06 square feet of filter area, which covers most large residential pools.
What media does it use?
