The Hayward Universal H-Series W3H400FDP is a 400,000 BTU propane gas pool heater with low NOx emissions and induced draft combustion. It is the top of the Universal H-Series range and the size most often chosen for large inground pools and for pool and spa systems where the spa needs to come up to temperature quickly.

Built for the installer

Hayward designs the Universal H-Series around the pool service professional: it is meant to be adaptable to the installation rather than dictating it, and it is efficient in operation once it is in. The induced draft system uses a fan to move combustion air, which makes the heater less sensitive to wind and venting conditions than a natural draft design.

This is the propane model. If your site is plumbed for natural gas, order the natural gas version instead. Gas heaters must be installed by a qualified professional in accordance with local codes, and this unit ships by freight on a pallet.
