Product details

The Sta-Rite C20-123Z is the gasket that seals the 5 inch strainer pot to the volute on JWPA and JW series pool pumps. It is the OEM rubber part.

The joint it seals

Water leaves the strainer pot and enters the volute through this opening. Everything on that side of the pump is under suction, so a gasket that has hardened, cracked or taken a permanent crush lets the pump pull air instead of water. The usual symptoms are slow priming, a pot that will not fill, or air bubbles returning to the pool.

Fit and form

The gasket is square with rounded edges and a large round center hole for the suction passage. It is listed at 4-1/2 inches square, 1/8 inch thick, with a 3-1/16 inch center hole and 5/16 inch bolt holes spaced 3-5/16 inches side to side and 4-11/16 inches diagonally. Clean both faces before fitting so the new gasket seats flat.
