Product details

The Hayward MaxFlo XE is an ultra high efficiency variable-speed pool pump. This listing is the 2.25 HP model, part number W3SP2315X20XE.

Why variable speed

A single speed pump has one setting: full. A variable speed pump lets you pick the speed for the job, so filtration runs long and slow at a fraction of the energy while cleaning and heating get the flow they need. Hayward built MaxFlo XE to bring that saving in at a lower price than the top of the range pumps.

Installation

Dual voltage capability means the pump can be wired to either supply, which makes it easier to drop onto an existing pad. Hayward designed the MaxFlo XE for straightforward installation on both new and existing pools.

Regulations

MaxFlo XE complies with the Department of Energy pump regulations, so it is a legitimate choice for a new build or for replacing an older pump that no longer meets the rules.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size is this pump?
2.25 HP. Hayward lists it as part W3SP2315X20XE in the MaxFlo XE range.
Does it meet the current pump energy rules?
Yes. Hayward lists MaxFlo XE as compliant with Department of Energy regulations, which apply to new and existing pools.
What voltage does it need?
It is a dual voltage pump, so it can be wired to either supply. Confirm the wiring configuration against the label before powering it up.
Is it worth replacing a single speed pump with this?
That is the case Hayward makes for it. Running a variable speed pump slowly for longer moves the same water for far less energy than a single speed pump at full tilt.
