Why the impeller number matters

On these pumps the impeller, working with its diffuser, is what sets the horsepower rating. Two pumps that look identical on the pad can carry different impellers. Fit the wrong one and the pump runs, but the flow it produces is not the flow the system was designed around. Check the number on the impeller you take out.
