Product details

The Pentair 155061 is the internal piping assembly for the PacFab Tagelus TA40 sand filter. It is the genuine Pentair part, supplied as a complete assembly.

What it does

The piping assembly sits at the bottom of the tank beneath the sand. Water is drawn down through the media and collected through the slots in this assembly, which are fine enough to hold the sand back while letting filtered water through to the return line. It is the only barrier between your media and your pool.

The symptom

Sand blowing into the pool through the returns, or a filter that has stopped holding pressure the way it used to, points at cracked laterals or a broken standpipe. There is no patch for it; the assembly is replaced.

Plan the work

Reaching the piping means emptying the tank, so this is a job that pairs with a media change. Order the sand at the same time and do both in one afternoon rather than opening the filter twice.

Which filter does this fit?
The Pentair PacFab Tagelus TA40 sand filter.
Will it fit a TA50 or an SD40?
No. Those tanks take a different Pentair piping assembly, so check the model stamped on your filter before ordering.
Why would I need a new piping assembly?
Sand appearing in the pool through the returns is the usual reason. A cracked lateral or a broken standpipe lets media past the filter, and the piping has to be replaced rather than patched.
Do I have to remove the sand?
Yes. The piping assembly sits at the bottom of the tank under the media, so the sand has to come out. Plan it as part of a media change rather than a quick repair.
