The Pentair 155061 is the internal piping assembly for the PacFab Tagelus TA40 sand filter. It is the genuine Pentair part, supplied as a complete assembly.
What it does
The piping assembly sits at the bottom of the tank beneath the sand. Water is drawn down through the media and collected through the slots in this assembly, which are fine enough to hold the sand back while letting filtered water through to the return line. It is the only barrier between your media and your pool.
The symptom
Sand blowing into the pool through the returns, or a filter that has stopped holding pressure the way it used to, points at cracked laterals or a broken standpipe. There is no patch for it; the assembly is replaced.
