Pentair Universal 1/4 in. NPT Black Plastic Drain Plug, 98207700

The Pentair 98207700 is a universal 1/4 inch NPT drain plug, made of black plastic, for pool and spa pump drain ports.

What it does

The plug threads into a 1/4 inch NPT drain fitting to seal it when the drain is not in use, keeping the pump housing closed during normal operation. It is labeled universal, meaning it is sized to fit standard 1/4 inch NPT drain ports rather than one specific pump model.

When to replace it

Drain plugs are removed and reinstalled often, for winterizing and for service, and the threads or seal can wear out over repeated use. A plug that no longer seals tightly, or one that has gone missing, should be replaced to keep the pump housing from leaking at the drain port.
