The Waterway 310-7420 is the genuine high pressure impeller for 1 HP to 1.5 HP pumps, listed for the CHAMPE-110, CHAMPS-115/215 and SVLHPE-110. It is used in the Waterway Champion 56 frame pump and the SVL56 high flow pump.

Match it to the motor

An impeller is not a generic part. It is cut for a particular horsepower, and the pump curve depends on that pairing. Fit an impeller from a larger motor and you ask a smaller one to pull more amps than it was wound for. Fit a smaller one and the system runs short of flow. Read the horsepower off the motor label and match it.

Symptoms of a tired impeller

Low flow that survives a clean filter and an empty pump basket usually traces back to the impeller. Either the vanes are packed with debris, hair and grit working in from a torn basket, or years of sand have thinned them. Neither is repairable in place.

While the pump is open

The shaft seal sits directly behind the impeller, so the teardown that gets the impeller off has already reached it. Replacing the seal in the same session is the difference between one job and two.

Can I fit a bigger impeller to get more flow?
No. The impeller is matched to the motor. Going up a size loads the motor beyond what it was wound for and going down starves the system, so stay with the horsepower on the motor label.
Should I replace the shaft seal too?
Yes. The seal sits directly behind the impeller and the same teardown reaches it. Doing both at once saves opening the pump twice.
How do I know the impeller is worn or blocked?
