Matching the right impeller
Sta-Rite builds a different impeller for every horsepower step in these pump families, and they are not interchangeable. The motor label is what decides it. This one covers two ratings at once: a 2 horsepower full rate motor and a 2-1/2 horsepower up rate motor use the same impeller.
What a worn impeller looks like

While the wet end is open
