Product details

This is the Waterway 550-1821 pump to filter flex hose assembly, the short PVC run that connects the pump discharge to the filter inlet. It arrives complete with both fittings attached, so the repair is a matter of unscrewing two union nuts rather than cutting and gluing new pipe.

The two ends are different

One end carries a 2 inch union, whose nut threads measure about 3-1/16 inches across. The other end is a sweep 90 degree elbow with a 1-1/2 inch union nut, whose threads measure about 2-9/16 inches. Because the ends differ, the assembly only goes on one way round. Measuring the threads on the nuts you already have is the quickest way to confirm the match before ordering.

Length and fit

The finished assembly is 32 inches long. Waterway lists it for Clearwater 19 inch sand filters. The swept elbow keeps the turn into the filter gradual, which is easier on flow than a hard 90 degree corner.
