Which impeller and diffuser fit my Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro?

Go by the model number. For the single phase P6 models in Pentair's chart, the digits after the dash pick the impeller: -204L takes C105-238PX, -205L C105-238P, -206L C105-238PB, -207L C105-238PDBA, -208L C105-238PEBA and -209L C105-238PLA. The diffuser follows too, C1-271P1 up to -206L and C1-271P from -207L on. Three phase, 50 Hz and two speed pumps have rows of their own in that chart, so check those against Pentair's list.

Why is my Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro leaking water between the motor and the pump?

That joint is where the mechanical shaft seal sits, between the seal plate and the impeller, and Pentair's manual says a Max-E-Pro run without water damages the seal and starts it leaking. The C203-194P seal plate kit brings a new seal plate, shaft seal and seal plate o-ring together, and Pentair's 356196 kit pairs the seal with the seal plate, diffuser, impeller screw and trap o-rings. Take off the band clamp and the motor and seal plate come out as one.

My Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro will not prime after I cleaned the basket. What did I miss?

Pentair's routine: fill the strainer and pump with water, clean the trap lid o-ring and seat it in its groove, and turn the lid down by hand. Leave the factory o-ring ungreased, since it carries its own lubricant. Then check that every valve is open and the suction pipe has no leaks. If the pump ran dry first, let the strainer pot cool before opening it, because Pentair warns it can hold scalding water. The trap o-ring is 35505-1440.

Do parts from an older Sta-Rite SuperMax VS fit one built after June 2019?

Not the wet end. Pentair splits the SuperMax VS, and the SuperFlo VS it shares parts with, at June 17, 2019. Pumps built before that date take the 355074 impeller, 355618 diffuser and 354545S shaft seal; later ones take the C105-238PDCA impeller, the 355949 diffuser and the 17351-0101S seal, with a different seal plate as well. The lid, lid o-ring, basket, union kit and base stay the same on both sides of that date.

Is my Sta-Rite pump a Dura-Glas or a Dura-Glas II, and does it change the parts?

It changes the impeller, so it is worth checking. In the model numbers our listings carry, the first Dura-Glas starts P2R and the first Max-E-Glas starts PE, while the II pumps start P4R or P4E. The first pumps take the C105-137 and C105-138 impellers; the II pumps take the same C105-238 impellers as the Max-E-Pro, along with their own C176-59PZ tank body. The first pumps' 5 inch suction trap comes complete as PKG 115.

Which impeller fits a Sta-Rite Dyna-Pro?

The suffix decides here too. Pentair lists C105-236P for the -204L pumps, which covers the 1/2 HP MPE6C as well as the 3/4 HP MPEA6D and MPRA6D, then C105-236PB for -205L, C105-236PC for -206L, C105-236PDA for -207L and C105-236PEA for -208L. The diffuser is C1-270PB on a 1/2 HP, C1-270PC on a 1 HP and C1-270P on the 1-1/2, 2 and 2-1/2 HP. Its trap lid, trap o-ring and basket are the Max-E-Pro's.
