Product details

The Pentair 356780Z is the seal plate O-ring for the EQ Series commercial plastic pump. It measures 11 inches across the outer diameter with a 3/8 inch thickness, and it is the genuine Pentair part rather than a generic ring cut to size.

What it seals

This is the large static seal between the pump housing and the seal plate. It carries no rotating load, but it holds back everything the pump moves, so when it hardens or takes a permanent set the pump starts weeping at the case seam and loses prime on start up. A ring that will not spring back when you press it is finished.

Fitment

It suits the EQ-Series commercial plastic pump in both configurations, with the hair and lint strainer and without it. Because it is a wear item that is disturbed every time the pump is opened, most techs fit a fresh one whenever the seal plate comes off rather than reusing the old ring.

The Pentair EQ-Series commercial plastic pump, in both the version with a hair and lint strainer and the version without one.
What size is it?
11 inch outer diameter with a 3/8 inch thickness.
Is this the shaft seal?
No. This is the static seal plate O-ring that seals the pump case. The rotating shaft seal is a separate part.
My pump drips from the seam between the housing halves. Is this the fix?
That seam is where this O-ring sits. If the ring is flattened, cracked or has taken a permanent set, replacing it is the first thing to try.
