This is the Hayward ECX4000CHK hardware kit for the clamp assembly. It is the genuine Hayward part, listed with Hayward pool pump parts and with Max-Flo II pump parts.

Hardware, not the clamp

The kit supplies the fasteners that pull the clamp together. If the clamp band itself is cracked, stretched or distorted, new hardware will not rescue it and the clamp needs replacing instead.

Why hardware wears out

Clamp fasteners live outdoors, get wet, and are tightened and loosened every time the equipment is opened. They corrode, they seize and they eventually round off under a wrench. Replacing them as a set means each fastener pulls evenly, which is what a clamped joint needs to seal.
