Pentair 355067Z is the high flow impeller rated for 3/4 hp full rated and 1 hp up rated pumps. It is used across the Challenger and Pinnacle high flow inground pumps, the SuperFlo, and the Sta-Rite SuperMax.
What the impeller does
The impeller is the spinning part that actually moves the water. Everything else in the wet end simply routes flow to it and away from it. As the vanes wear, or as debris packs into the eye of the impeller, the pump keeps drawing the same current and making the same noise while delivering steadily less flow. That is why a slow decline in filter pressure and turnover often traces back to the impeller rather than to the motor.
Getting the right one
These pump bodies are built in more than one hydraulic version, and the horsepower on the label is not enough on its own. This is the high flow impeller for the 3/4 hp full rated and 1 hp up rated builds. Match your pump against that before you order.
While the pump is open
Getting to the impeller means separating the wet end and disturbing the shaft seal. It is worth having a seal on hand so the pump goes back together with a fresh one rather than a seal that has already been unseated once.
