The Hayward SPX2707CM is the genuine replacement impeller for the 1.0 HP Max-Flo II pool pump.

What the impeller does

The impeller is the spinning plastic wheel that actually moves the water. Its vanes throw water outward into the volute, and the shape of those vanes is what sets how much flow and head the pump produces at a given motor speed. Wear the vanes down, crack one, or pack the passages with hair and grit, and the pump keeps drawing the same power while delivering noticeably less water.

Matching the horsepower

Hayward matches impellers to motor ratings, and this is the 1.0 HP part. Read the horsepower off the motor label rather than going by what the pump was sold as, since motors get swapped over the years.

While the pump is apart

The mechanical seal comes off with the impeller and is not worth reusing, so fit a new seal assembly at the same time. It is also the right moment to look at the diffuser for scoring and at the seal plate for cracks.
