Quick overview
- Genuine Hayward Factory part SPX2710CM, not an aftermarket copy.
- Horsepower specific This is the 1.5 HP impeller; Max-Flo II impellers are matched to the motor rating.
- Max-Flo II pumps The impeller used in the Hayward Max-Flo II.
- Plastic construction Molded plastic, as fitted at the factory.
- Restores lost flow A worn or packed impeller drops flow across the whole system, and the pump often gets blamed instead.
- A shaft seal job too The impeller has to come off the shaft to reach the seal, so plan on doing both while it is apart.

Product details
The Hayward SPX2710CM is the genuine impeller for the 1.5 HP Max-Flo II pool pump, in molded plastic as supplied from the factory.
What a worn impeller looks like
Flow falls off across the whole system. Skimmers pull weakly, the cleaner slows and the heater and chlorinator get less water than they were sized for. If the filter and the pump basket are both clean and the flow is still down, the impeller is where to look, either packed with debris or worn at the vanes.
Match the horsepower
Max-Flo II impellers are horsepower specific. This one is the 1.5 HP part, so check the rating on the motor label rather than going by the pump body. While the impeller is off the shaft the mechanical seal is exposed, which is the right moment to replace it too.
