Product details

The Hayward SPX2700UNKIT is the union connector kit for the Max-Flo pump family, supplied with two nuts, the connectors and the gaskets. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What unions do

Unions are the threaded collars that join a pump to the pool plumbing. They exist so the pump can be taken out for service without cutting pipe, which means they are opened and closed far more often than any other joint in the system, and they are where drips appear first.

Fit and contents

The kit is listed for the Hayward MaxFlo VS variable speed pump, the Max-Flo XL SP2300X and the Max-Flo II SP2700X. Because it carries two of everything, both the suction and the return connection are renewed in one go rather than leaving an old gasket on the side that has not failed yet.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What comes in the kit?
Two nuts, the connectors and the gaskets.
Which pumps does it fit?
It is listed for the Hayward MaxFlo VS variable speed, Max-Flo XL SP2300X and Max-Flo II SP2700X pump series.
Do I get both unions or just one?
Both. The kit covers two, which is what a pump uses.
My union is leaking. Do I need the whole kit?
Union leaks usually start at the gasket, but the nut and connector wear alongside it. The kit replaces the whole connection on both sides rather than patching one face.
