Product details

The Hayward SPXHKIT12 gathers the soft parts a PowerFlo pump needs into a single kit. It covers the PowerFlo LX SP1580, the PowerFlo SP1500 and the PowerFlo II SP1700 series.

What is in it

The kit carries the cup, the housing o-ring, the strainer cover o-ring, the strainer o-ring, the housing gasket, the housing o-ring gasket and a tube of lube for seating them. Buying them together saves the usual round of ordering one seal, finding another has hardened, and taking the pump apart twice.

When to reach for it

Air at the strainer lid, a pump that will not hold prime, or a slow weep at the housing joint almost always trace back to o-rings that have gone hard and lost their squeeze. Replacing all of them at once, with fresh lube, is the reliable fix. If the pump is noisy or the seal behind the impeller is leaking, that is a different repair.

Which pumps does this kit cover?
The PowerFlo LX SP1580 series, the PowerFlo SP1500 series and the PowerFlo II SP1700 series.
What is in the kit?
A cup, the housing o-ring, the strainer cover o-ring, the strainer o-ring, the housing gasket, the housing o-ring gasket and Jack's Lube.
Will this stop my pump losing prime?
If the loss of prime is coming from dried out seals at the strainer or housing, yes. Those are the parts this kit replaces. A leak elsewhere in the suction plumbing is a separate problem.
Is the impeller or the motor seal included?
No. This kit is the o-rings, gaskets, cup and lube. The impeller and shaft seal are separate Hayward parts.
