What is in it
The kit carries the cup, the housing o-ring, the strainer cover o-ring, the strainer o-ring, the housing gasket, the housing o-ring gasket and a tube of lube for seating them. Buying them together saves the usual round of ordering one seal, finding another has hardened, and taking the pump apart twice.
When to reach for it
Air at the strainer lid, a pump that will not hold prime, or a slow weep at the housing joint almost always trace back to o-rings that have gone hard and lost their squeeze. Replacing all of them at once, with fresh lube, is the reliable fix. If the pump is noisy or the seal behind the impeller is leaking, that is a different repair.
